Paralympic canoe rower Talia Eilat qualified tonight (between Wednesday and Thursday) for the finals of the World Championships held in Canada, for a distance of 200 meters.
Eilat, a member of Beit HaLochem Tel Aviv who trains with Vitali Drozd at the Daniel Rowing Center in Tel Aviv, set a time of 1:14.31 minutes, in her debut appearance at the championships and was ranked third overall, which gave her the ticket to the final stage.
Earlier, in the qualifying stage, Eilat took part in the second qualifying round, where she achieved 1:12.46 minutes and because she was ranked fourth, she had to continue to the semi-finals, with only the first three automatically advancing to the finals.
Kayak rower Ron Halevi from Beit HaLohm Haifa, who trains in the Jordan Valley with Roi Lev, finished the semi-final in fourth place with a score of 47:09 seconds and qualified for the second final.
The finals will take place tomorrow (Friday), when Eilat will also participate in the World Kayaking Championship.
