Who scores the goals at Bayern after the Lewandowski era?
Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has already formed his opinion.
Munich – After the departures of Robert Lewandowski and Erling Haaland, the Bundesliga is two attractions poorer, that is undisputed.
What's more, the league lost two of the top scorers of recent years in one fell swoop.
Lewandowski's figures in particular read spectacularly: In the last Bundesliga season, the Pole scored 35 goals, in the seasons before that 41, 34, 22, 29, 30 and 30 goals respectively.
The ex-Bayern star has thus secured six top scorers in the last seven seasons.
The one exception was Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in 2016/17, when the then Dortmund player scored 31 more goals than Lewandowski.
After the departure of Lewandowski and Haaland: the race for a top scorer is more open than ever
Although Haaland has never been top scorer since his Bundesliga debut, his hit rate with 69 Bundesliga goals in three seasons (13, 27 and 29 goals) is outstanding.
If the Norwegian had extended his contract with Dortmund again, he would certainly have surpassed the 30-goal mark per season in the near future.
With the change of the two goal machines to Spain (FC Barcelona) and England (Manchester City), the fight for the top scorer is more open than it has been for a long time.
Who can call themselves top scorer after the end of the season that starts this weekend?
Sport Bild
also asked
former top scorers in the Bundesliga this question, including legends such as Luca Toni, Klaus Allofs and Karl-Heinz Rummenigge.
The former CEO of FC Bayern Munich guessed Thomas Müller, who was last seen in a rap video with Serge Gnabry.
Rummenigge sees Thomas Müller as the next top scorer
"Thomas Müller is my favourite!
My tip: 24 goals will be enough in the coming season, because nobody will come close to Robert Lewandowski's top values and his quota," Rummenigge explained to
Sport Bild
.
The 66-year-old insisted on taking responsibility for Müller after Lewy left.
"For Thomas Müller, 24 goals would also be a new record.
He will be more in demand than ever as a goalscorer next season, but maybe a little less as a provider.”
Incidentally, Rummenigge exclusively had the idea of proclaiming Müller as the upcoming top scorer in the legends round.
In addition, Müller also seems to have to fight for his place due to the strong competition in the FC Bayern squad.
FCB fan favorite Toni, for example, sees Sadio Mané running for the top scorer's crown.
"I'm sure that FC Bayern will be champions again and that Mane in particular will score the goals along the way." Allofs, Ailton and Nuremberg legend Marek Mintal shared this opinion.
