VfB Stuttgart before the 2022/23 season: Matarazzo and Mislintat are planning a new squad
On the final day of the game, VfB only secured victory against 1. FC Köln in injury time and the associated relegation.
What distinguished VfB Stuttgart despite the sporting crisis: The traditional club has retained coach Pellegrino Matarazzo and sports director Sven Mislintat.
The duo has also planned the VfB squad for 2022/23 accordingly.
Hopes now rest on newcomers Josha Vagnoman (Hamburger SV), Juan José Perea (PAS Giannina) and Luca Pfeiffer (FC Midtjylland).
The Swabians have raised 13 million euros from the sale of Orel Mangala, who has moved to Nottingham Forest.

VfB Stuttgart: Rumors about Kalajdzic and Sosa
Due to the transfer surplus, VfB is not necessarily obliged to give up the courted Borna Sosa and Sasa Kalajdzic.
However, the two personal details will probably keep VfB fans busy until the end of the summer transfer period.
VfB Stuttgart's preparations have been largely successful.
An example of this is the last test against FC Valencia, which the Swabians clearly won 5-2.
The Bundesliga team was also able to celebrate in the DFB Cup.
In the first round, VfB prevailed 1-0 at Dynamo Dresden, which had been relegated to the second division.

VfB Stuttgart: Construction site at the stadium could be a disadvantage
On the first day of the Bundesliga match, VfB Stuttgart will host cup winners RB Leipzig on Sunday (7 August).
Six days later, the Matarazzo team travel to newly promoted SV Werder Bremen before the derby against SC Freiburg.
A possible disadvantage Stuttgart will have this season is the stadium.
The Mercedes-Benz Arena is currently being renovated and will not be completely modernized until early 2024.
Apart from that, however, there are good signs that VfB Stuttgart will have a more successful season than last year.
