Borussia Dortmund starts the new Bundesliga season against Bayern Leverkusen.
Before the start, BVB boss Hans-Joachim Watzke thoughtfully spoke about coach Edin Terzic.
Munich/Dortmund – He is where he supposedly always wanted to be: Edin Terzic is the head coach of Borussia Dortmund.
The 39-year-old, who used to stand in the legendary south stand himself, was previously Technical Director of Westphalia.
After winning the DFB Cup as interim coach in 2021 with his Borussia.
But then Marco Rose took over, whom he is now succeeding.

The Dortmund boss warned at the same time with a view to the workload of his coach: "It makes a difference whether you're just an employee at a club as a coach or whether it's more like Edin.

“I can feel that, it takes a lot out of him.
That's maybe the danger that the whole thing evokes," Watzke continued in the podcast and said: "We have to be careful that it doesn't wear out.
That he can stay true to himself without wearing himself out completely.” To do this, “everybody would have to protect him a little, because Edin burns so much, we have to make sure that the flame burns for a long, long time”.
Terzic and BVB, who are currently looking for a replacement for striker Sebastien Haller, who is suffering from testicular cancer, will start the new Bundesliga season on Saturday (6.30 p.m.) in the top game against Bayer Leverkusen.

At the press conference for the game against the “Werkself”, he showed just how electrified Terzic is.

Terzic also took his team energetically to task.
He expects his players to "work much more aggressively in the crucial zones," explained the Dortmund coach.
If Watzke has his way, he should also take care of himself despite all the energy.
