Summary of the Conference League qualifiers: Maccabi Tel Aviv - Aris Thessaloniki 0:2 (Sport1)

Even Eran Zahavi was particularly excited.

How many decisive goals he scored, how many dramas he created and yet another moment of magic as only he knows how to do, that rained yesterday (Thursday) on the grass in Bloomfield.

It was a goal so similar to that phenomenal goal in the derby against Hapoel Tel Aviv.

The same goal that made it 2:3 and made Paulo Sousa run amok towards him.

It was even from the same piece of grass with a not strong but accurate pass to the same goal.

It really happens to her.

Zahavi did not hide his excitement.

He went through a very difficult time.

The injury bothered him and when he didn't return according to the route planned in Maccabi Tel Aviv, doubts also began to arise.

He gritted his teeth and did what he hates to do the most, sit on the sidelines and not train.

But the body did not betray and the knee began to hurt less, so he returned to training gradually and yesterday, a total of a week since he started training fully, he already jumped into the deep water, as he defined it, and scored the second goal that could make all the difference for the rematch next Thursday in Thessaloniki.

At the end of the game, he came to talk to the media about everything that happened recently and Zavi, as always, knows how to talk.

"It wasn't easy for me," he admitted.

"I arrived at the camp in Holland a little earlier than I should have, and I didn't control myself. I immediately went into training with the team at 100 percent, which shouldn't have happened. I don't blame anyone. I did three training sessions with the team there and there were complications. I'm still in the process. Today The team needed me and I'm glad I could help them."

The most exciting there is.

What happened to you in the recovery process when instead of coming back after a month, you had to start all over again?

"It basically went according to plan. Already after three weeks I was on the grass and trained both in Dubai and Amsterdam. Everything was normal. Fortunately, this is the first surgery I've had in my career and I didn't have the necessary experience with these injuries. I pushed myself a little too much as usual, so we went back and maybe It was for the better."

How special was this goal tonight for you?

"I almost scored with a shot on the first touch and it could have been amazing. Everyone was waiting for my return. The crowd was very significant in my return and I am happy that we had an exciting moment. There is no one happier than me tonight. I really want to see this atmosphere in Bloomfield in every game here."

The goal reminded me of the goal in the derby when instead of Barak Badash it was Stipa Pritza who gave you the assist.

"Perhaps we'll put Badash's wig on the hack, because it was really similar. This goal gave us a bigger advance for the rematch, but it's still a fragile result. We'll have a very difficult game away. We'll come there to a very home field. I also think that this is a very good team and a fact That Daniel Peretz made some saves here."

You say everyone was waiting for your goal.

How long did you wait for him?

"I've been waiting a lot. I've scored a lot of goals in recent years. Goals in the Israel national team, in China, in the Netherlands. But here is home. Here it's more exciting. It's ours."

How much did the reception you got here against Eindhoven make you want to come back?

"It has a significant part. It was a very emotional moment. The respect the fans gave me was not obvious. I want to give back on the grass."

Maccabi Tel Aviv's previous game against Zira was completely different and you looked bad.

What made you look so good after just one week?

"We won in the arena 0:3 and came here to a sleepy atmosphere. There was no energy in the game. When the opponent is weak, they drag you into a bad game. We want to move forward now. Many players played a good game."

We saw your collaboration with Oskar Gloch.

Describe what could happen between you next.

"I only did three training sessions with the team. There is no doubt that Oscar is a great talent and we saw what he did in the European Championship. He can progress a lot. He is a good boy who works hard. He is a professional. Good players can understand each other easily. I will try to set an example on the pitch that he will be able to accept. I am sure that Oscar will have a good career."

What was going through your mind yesterday when Ivic said at the press conference that you might start in the lineup?

"It was a bit stressful, but I knew it wasn't his plan for me to start. I was excited and happy to go in. I'm a small part of the team today. We looked good as a team. Both those who started and the substitutes."

This is your first game under Vladan Ivic.

What is your impression of him?

"Until now, I looked at the training from the sidelines. He has high demands. As we progress, we will be a better team. In the end, energy is a very important thing in a soccer team. We have the ability to do great things."

Your signing was statements of intent.

Where is Maccabi Tel Aviv right now?

"I don't want to compare us to other clubs. Maccabi Tel Aviv made good signings. Maccabi Haifa also worked and we saw how they look at the moment. I only control myself and can only influence what happens at Maccabi Tel Aviv."
