Groupama-FDJ, Cofidis, AG2R-Citroën, TotalEnergies in France, Lotto-Soudal, Trek Segafredo abroad… Jason Tesson the promising sprinter from St Michel-Auber 93, winner four times this year, including four-day stages from Dunkirk and the Boucles de la Mayenne, was spoiled for choice.

The 24-year-old runner, who had to deliver newspapers and work in the factory for amateurs before signing professional with Auber in 2021, finally opted for the training of Jean-René Bernaudeau this summer.

TotalEnergies formalized its signing for two years this week.

“All the options were interesting,” says Tesson.

The FDJ offered me a place as sprinter number 2 behind Démare.

But TotalEnergies is the choice of the heart.

It's the team in my region

(he's from Maine-et-Loire)

, I'm there

know people and I always supported Jean-René's teams when I was younger.

I also appreciated that he came to my house and then for lunch in a restaurant.

He clearly explained my future role to me and that he was counting on me for the sprints on the French calendar.

I also hope to be able to compete in a Grand Tour, Paris Roubaix.

At TotalEnergies, he will be able to rub shoulders with Peter Sagan.

“He is a gentleman.

He did a lot of good on the bike.

Sagan we either love him or we don't.

I am a huge fan of his style.

I can't wait to meet him, to be able to chat with him, for him to advise me on sprints.

Before changing worlds, the former 2020 French amateur champion who now spends part of his time in the Paris region since his partner Océane Goergen, a runner in the women's team of St Michel-Auber 93, wants to treat his farewells.

“Stéphane Javalet trusted me by giving me my chance with the pros and my teammates were incredible.

I owe them everything.

In cycling, there are no leaders or sprinters without good teammates.

St Michel Auber is a family.

There is necessarily a twinge of heart to leave them.

That's why I want to make a success of my end of the season with them by offering them a great victory to thank them.
