Who will replace target scorer Sébastien Haller in Borussia Dortmund's attack?

Time is ticking, there are a few options.

A Barcelona star could be the solution.

Dortmund/Barcelona - The Bundesliga opens its doors on Friday (5 August), but the transfer window is open until the first of the following month.

Until then, clubs can still sign players to adjust the squad to achieve the goals of the season - for example, if the first few games fail.

At Borussia Dortmund, the biggest construction site is in the offensive area: After goalgetter Sébastien Haller fell ill with cancer, BVB desperately needed a substitute who slipped into the role of the goalscorer for the black and yellow.

Those responsible seem to be aware that further reinforcement is necessary for this.

BVB is looking for a new goal-getter - and could find it in Barcelona

With Paco Alcacer, Borussia allegedly recently rejected an ex-striker, as

explains.

But Dortmund could still find what they were looking for in Spain when looking for a Haller replacement: BVB has its sights set on a star striker who could now apparently even switch for “lukewarm”: Memphis Depay.

The Dutchman is in the service of FC Barcelona and, according to the Catalan portal

(Spain), could leave the top Spanish club for Germany.

BVB would flirt with two different scenarios to lure the Dutch attacker to the Bundesliga: a loan and a free transfer.

Or will the eight-time Bundesliga champion possibly sign the son of a legendary coach?

BVB could sign Memphis Depay - Barcelona need to save money

The transfer expert Fabrizio Romano is certain that the latter variant would be preferred: According to him, the “Blaugrana” would already be fighting the termination of the contract with the star striker, which lasted until 2023, with which Depay could switch to Borussia Dortmund without a fee.

In addition, Barcelona originally wanted to demand a transfer fee of around 20 million euros, but so far have not found a buyer.

What the financially crashed top club is still about: With a separation from Memphis Depay, screw down the team's salary budget.

The national player himself only moved from Olympique Lyon to Catalonia in the summer of 2021 - also on a free transfer after the contract in France expired.

Meanwhile, BVB coach Terzic recently commented on the personnel situation and how he assesses the storm problem that arose due to Haller's illness:

He explained why he was in favor of maintaining the current regulation.
