A great achievement for the climber Oren Freehead who won the silver medal this evening (Saturday) in the European Bouldering Championship under the age of 20, which is being held in the city of Graz, Austria.
Freehead beat 52 competitors who started the qualifiers, and in the final stage reached the top twice and added another 4 times reaching the zone, obtaining Israel's second medal in the competition, after last night Adi Barak won the bronze medal in the under-18 competition.
It should be remembered that until this competition, Israel had never won a medal at the European Youth Bouldering Championship and it seems that there is a future for the new Olympic discipline, which made its debut in Tokyo last year and will also appear at the Olympics in Paris in less than two years.
Along with Freehead, Ido Fidel and Geva Levin also competed in the finals.
In doing so, Israel completed a trio of climbers in the final out of a total of eight competitors (the other five competitors came from five different countries).
Fidel and Levin were also very close to getting on the podium, when they finished fourth and fifth (respectively).
