This is not how Erik ten Haag imagined his first game as coach of Manchester United.
The Red Devils hosted Brighton today (Sunday) in the opening round of the Premier League and lost to them 2:1.
The Dutch coach, who arrived in the summer from Ajax, entered the lineup without the big star, Cristiano Ronaldo, but with Christian Eriksen - as I recall, he almost lost his life in the last Euro when he suffered a cardiac arrest - and completed an impressive comeback on the grass, returning to the top league and joining the team in the summer.

It was 31-year-old winger Pascal Gross who stole the show, stunning Old Trafford with a pair of goals in the 30th and 39th minutes.
United came back from halftime with Cristiano Ronaldo coming on as a substitute, and with a different approach.
She was more dangerous, and even scored a goal in the 68th minute after Mac Allister pushed the ball into his goal after a mistake in the Seagulls' defense.

The Reds continued to press in order to equalize but their attempts were unsuccessful and in the end a huge victory for Brighton, which amazes Ten Haah and the gang - and again, marks a stressful start to the season for Manchester United.
The red crowd booed at the end, the Dutch coach clapped and left quickly.
