Haaland strikes in

He knew he was expected, he answered present.

Manchester City's new darling came to prominence in his first Premier League game.

The Norwegian striker unblocked a rather closed match by obtaining a penalty on a poor exit from Areola.

He then did himself justice by opening the scoring (36th).

More and more sought after by his partners and in particular De Bruyne, the former Dortmund striker would then end up being found by the playmaker in the second half.

The Belgian launched Haaland perfectly behind the defense and he beat Areola a second time by opening his left foot perfectly against the French international (65th).

A double for his discovery of the English championship, the "cyborg" starts on the hats.

Cancelo already operational

The Portuguese side had a lot of activity throughout the game.

Aligned as a left side, Cancelo is more often returned in the axis to bring the surplus to the midfield.

At the creation and recovery, the number 7 of the Citizens was omnipresent on the lawn of the London Stadium.

The Portuguese is already on pace with 129 balls hit, 7 duels won out of 10 and 4 successful dribbles out of 5 attempted.

Declan Rice floats

In the doldrums of West Ham, a player did not go unnoticed and succeeded in his game.

Declan Rice has once again dedicated himself as a leader.

Dominated in midfield, the Hammers were able to count on their captain and technical leader not to be too ridiculous.

The English international recovered many balls and oriented the game as he could.

A good copy despite the defeat of his own.

FLOPS

Areola begins the fall of West Ham

The French international missed his match.

Substitute at the start of the game, he came on in place of Fabianski who was injured (27th).

Less than ten minutes later, too far back on a pass in the box for Haaland, he missed his exit with both hands at the feet of the Norwegian, offering a penalty to City which Haaland transformed (34th).

This goal unblocked the situation and ideally served City's game plan.

He then collects a second from the Norwegian on which he can do nothing.

Grealish gets ominous

The former Aston Villa player still can't do it.

Certainly Jack Grealish touched many balls on his left wing but he did not make good use of them.

Taking too few risks in his game, he was content to play sideways or behind.

On his only offensive risk-taking, the England international was far too imprecise and constantly returned the ball to the opponent with badly felt passes and risky crosses.

A copy that is far too neutral for a player recruited for 117 million euros.

West Ham too cautious

After the first minutes of madness during which they created 3 opportunities, the Hammers then left the ball to City and suffered throughout the game.

On his lawn, West Ham was transparent and dominated without ever managing to revolt.

David Moyes' men created too few chances and were unable to respond to the dominance of the Citizens.

They managed for a long time hoping to come back with a flash to equalize but finally conceded the second goal when they were starting to get better.

A poorly negotiated match on their part.
