"For 90 minutes all friendship rests"

Pointers before the district derby and top game: FCD coach Andreas Pummer – can his team defend the lead in the table?

A district derby as a Bavarian league hit: FC Ismaning, third in the table, could take the lead in the classification this Tuesday with a win over leaders FC Deisenhofen (kick-off 6:30 p.m.).

- FCD coach Andreas Pummer expects "a highly interesting game, not only because of the situation in the table, but because both teams are trying to play football".

The teams will hardly surprise each other.

They know each other and Pummer has a lot of sympathy for the opponent, above all for his sporting director: “I have a friendly relationship with Walter Werner, I was his assistant coach in Unterföhring.

He is such an experienced coach and a person with a very good character.

I learned a lot from him and I still draw on that today,” says the Deisenhofner coach.

"In addition, there are a few ex-players of mine at Ismaning, such as Yasin Yilmaz and Dominik Hofmann, and I also get along very well with coach Mijo Stijepic.

Pummer wants to leave the field as a winner this time too, regardless of how much he appreciates some of the opponent's protagonists.

"Anyone who knows me knows that it doesn't matter at all in the 90 minutes.

I even knocked my brother out of his shoes playing soccer and then got in trouble from mom.

There are no friendships on the football pitch,” the 40-year-old clarifies.

But the respect is undoubtedly there, also in sporting terms: “Ismaning has recently been following a path similar to that of Deisenhofen for a long time.

They pull one or the other player from their own offspring.

In addition, they have an experienced axis with Alexander Jobst as defense chief, Hofmann as a six, Yilmaz as thinker and driver and up front Daniel Gaedke Sascha Mölders, now player coach of TSV Landsberg.

So it smells like hard work, but Pummer sees his team defensively equipped after the 1-0 win against Erlbach: "That was very neat, it's always good when you keep a clean sheet." A shortcoming, however, is still the chances.

“We missed a couple of huge boards again against Erlbach.

It's also my job as a coach to improve that, but that can't be done within a week," the FCD coach urges patience.
