Russia's Kasatkina wins her first title at the US Open in San Jose

Russian tennis player Daria Kasatkina, ranked 12th in the world, won her first title this year by winning the San Jose US Open on hard courts.

Kasatkina beat American Shelby Rodgers 6-7, 6-1, 6-2 in the final of the tournament.

This is the fifth title in the career of the 25-year-old Russian player.

Kasatkina, who eliminated the world's fourth-ranked Paula Padusa and is the most prominent candidate to win the title in the semi-finals, managed to raise her level, unlike her opponent, to win two consecutive sets and decide the match in her favor in one hour and 16 minutes.
