The Ryan Giggs assault and abuse case is back in the headlines in England, three years after it was opened.
Today (Monday) the trial in the case of the former Manchester United star started, and included shocking evidence of severe violence on his part.
Giggs is accused of assaulting and abusing his ex-partner Kate Granville, as well as assaulting her sister Emma Granville.
According to the prosecutor in the trial, "on the field, Giggs had amazing abilities, and his style of play was beautiful. In his personal life off the field, Giggs had an ugly and evil side. In this story, it is expressed."
The prosecutor detailed a series of cases in which Giggs allegedly attacked Granville, threatening her with physical, verbal and psychological violence.
In one of the cases, after Granville confronted him about allegedly cheating on her and sleeping with several women with whom he was having an affair at the same time, he "kicked her and threw her out of the hotel room where they were staying, while naked."

Giggs' alleged abuse was "systematic and annoying," and according to the prosecutor, he used to abuse her in every small argument.
He also behaved obsessively and compulsively, and several times threatened to send his partner's colleagues intimate videos of her that "prove that she is promiscuous."
In addition, he used to harass her by phone when she tried to end the relationship, and appeared several times at her home and at his workplace against her will, and even searched her personal belongings to find incriminating details about her.
In another case, where his partner's younger sister confronted him about his unfaithful behavior, she hit him with his elbow, leaving her bleeding.
Giggs continues to deny the allegations to this day.
The affair took an immediate toll on Giggs professionally, after he was suspended from the Wales team which he coached for Euro 2020.

Aside from the serious allegations that may lead to criminal charges against him, Giggs has previously been known for his scandalous behavior off the pitch.
In the past as someone who had an affair with his sister-in-law, his brother's wife.
According to publications, the two had sex for eight years without his brother's knowledge.
