But in the world of Brazilian sports: Jiu-Jitsu world champion Andrew Lu was murdered tonight (between Sunday and Monday), after being shot by a policeman.
The 33-year-old Lou arrived at a concert in Sao Paulo, where he confronted a police officer.
At 1:57 at night the policeman came to the table of the former world champion and took one of the bottles.
Lu, in response, grabbed the bottle back, and hit the policeman.
Several people tried to separate the two, but when the policeman got up, he pulled out his gun and shot the fighter twice in the head.
Lou was rushed to the hospital, but it was already too late - a few hours later, he was pronounced dead.
According to reports in the Brazilian media, the policeman was not arrested and even tried to escape from the law enforcement authorities after the incident.
"Unbelievable that Andrew Lu has passed away. Rest in peace," Brazilian MMA fighter Gilbert Burns tweeted.
Former fighter Josh Thomson added: "We use the word 'legend' a lot, but you can't use it anymore when talking about you. To Andrew Lowe, my heart and prayers are with your family.
Lou has won the World Jiu-Jitsu Championship eight times - the first was in 2012, and the last in the championship held earlier this year in California.
