Ben Simmons became one of the most hated players in the NBA last season.
As you remember, the Australian forward sat out an entire season and refused to play in the Philadelphia uniform, which had to trade him to Brooklyn.
Simmons, who claimed he was suffering from back pain, was scheduled to play in the first round of the playoffs against Boston, but it continued to claim pain and did not play in the playoffs, where Brooklyn was humiliatingly eliminated in a humiliating sweep against the Celtics.
In the US there were conflicting reports about Simmons - some believed that he was really injured and others claimed that he was simply an uncommitted player. Senior commentators such as Stephen I. Ben Simmons was selected by Philadelphia with the first pick in the 2016 draft and the expectations for him were very high.
He averaged double-digit points in each of his four seasons in Philadelphia and managed to make three All-Star appearances and was named the Defensive Player of the Season twice.
But after he left Philadelphia with a door slam, it seems that Simmons will be looking for a new team for him next season and Brooklyn, for its part, will have to rebuild following the expected departure of Kevin Durant as well.
