1860 already has two wins – will there be a third against Meppen?

Three wins at the start of a season – the lions were not even granted it in the regional league.

Looking at the opponents who were beaten at the time (Augsburg, FCK, Hoffenheim) and their own staff (Göktan, Lars Bender, di Salvo), the last nine-point start sounds like a blue fairy tale from 1001 nights – at least for younger fans.

And in the 3rd league?

The best start was two years ago - with seven points from the first three games.

Therefore: In 2022, on the fifth attempt, it should finally work with three wins from the first three games.

For Michael Köllner, who also failed at the art of the triple starting three with Nuremberg, it is the next mark that he wants to create with 1860.

After the furious start in Dresden (4:3) and the work win against Oldenburg (1:0), the coach said before the home game against Meppen this Tuesday: "So far we have achieved the optimum.

Köllner has a lot left for the opponent, SV Meppen, who is in fourth place behind 1860.

Against Oldenburg, the absence of top scorer Marcel Bär (foot surgery) was noticeable for the first time.

Trend: This time it's Lakenmacher's turn again.

Köllner said about him: "It's fun to work with the boy.

He's a player who makes you want more.” And: Against defensive edges like Steffen Puttkammer (1.92 m), whom the 1860 coach explicitly mentioned, Lakenmacher might have a little more power to counter.

The other personal question mark concerns the position on the right back, where Yannick Deichmann recently had to help out again - until Köllner brought in Christopher Lannert in the final phase against Oldenburg, whom he had taken off the field in the cup against Dortmund after Malen's 0-1 and danger of red threats - to him protection.

"Of course it's not the greatest thing for a player if the coach takes him down after 20 minutes.

But in the end it's about not leaving the boy alone and destroying him.

We had an idea when we signed him - and we are absolutely convinced of his quality on the track."
