What did Hapoel Tel Aviv do with the funds from Leidner and Elias? | Israel today

The debts to Maor Bouzglou and Ahmed Abed, the player's salary that went up and the purchase of Laios and Ozhbolt • While the Hapoel Tel Aviv fans are trying to understand why the incomes this summer do not lead to strengthening, Shai Artzi puts the economic conduct of the Reds in order

In the last two months, Hapoel Tel Aviv has sold quite a few players, such as Doron Leidner, Shay Elias, Raz Shlomo and Marko Yankovitz, for an amount that, according to estimates, totaled approximately NIS 10 million. But where did this money go or will it go? To purchases? To debts? To the youth department? Here the answers.

Just before we dive into the numbers, we need to emphasize a very important thing - and that is that Hapoel Tel Aviv has not yet received all the money for the players it sold this summer. What do we mean? Let's take the two biggest deals: Doron Leidner for 1.5 million euros ( before bonuses) to Olympiakos, and Shai Elias for 750,000 euros to Hapoel B.S.

The payment for these two transactions is spread over three equal payments, so for example it will turn out that the Greeks will finish paying for the left defender only next season.

This means that it is not possible to take all the money at once and pour it over the budget for procurement, etc.

Here we move to the issue of debts - in order to pass the inspection, the club members made a commitment and deposited funds to prove that they would transfer the funds to Maor Bouzaglo and Ahmed Abed, in an estimated amount of NIS 2 million.

On top of that, there was a debt to Felipe Rodrigues and another debt that had to be paid, so that the total of all those debts is estimated at NIS 3 million.

These amounts were not part of Hapoel's expenses in recent years, but now they have entered the budget.

In addition to this, according to the report that the club sent to the budgetary control, in the 2021/22 season a deficit of NIS 1.7 million was recorded and there is a desire to close it and not drag it forward. 5 million shekels in the budget she has to pay.

Hapoel claims that as a result of the sales of the players, the salary budget for the players is also going to climb significantly this year and will rise from 11 million shekels last season to around 14-15 million shekels.

Let's put things into perspective: goalkeeper Stefan Marinovic earns the same as Ernestos Stakes earned.

Federic Romarto and Pablo Gonzalez earn a salary similar to that of Farley Rossa and Marko Jankovic, who played in the team only in the last three months of the season, and there are also Cynthia Sallich, Dor Elo and Case Ghanem who earn a salary similar to that earned by Shlomi Azoulai, Shay Elias and Shay Eisen.

Who was upgraded in salary?

This is where the growth begins: Sianda Kolo earned $7,000 a month last season.

Kalil Traore earned $3,000 a month.

That is, these two players together received 110 thousand dollars.

Hapoel allocated the foreign defender, who has not yet signed, a salary of 170 to 200 thousand dollars per season, which is almost twice as much as these two players combined.

Alan Ozbolt was signed for a record salary of $225,000, compared to Freddy Plomin, who played only in the last few months for a salary of $10,000 a month.

Here it is already a twice as big expense.

Let's continue - Doron Leidner earned a soldier's salary of several thousand shekels, and Yahav Gorfinkel was signed in his place, with a salary close to 100 thousand dollars.

Osher Davida ends his soldier contract this season and will earn five times the salary he received so far.

And recently the defender Abu Dusso was also added for a low salary.

It is true, the increase in the players' wages is not particularly large - but it exists, and to it should be added the fact that Hapoel also acquired players - Hisham Laios for half a million shekels and another 800 thousand shekels for Alan Ozbolt, and thus you get a cumulative increase of 15%-10% in the budget, which will increase from NIS 30 million to about NIS 35 million.

And what about the funds that will come in in the future?

will also be referred to the budget.

"If there is any money left over from the sales of the players in the future, it will only go to Hapoel, no one will take a shekel home," concluded a senior member of the club.
