The opening ceremony at the start of the 60th Bundesliga season underscored what we all already know: the “makers” of the Bundesliga still rely on entertainment and want to keep up with the big money that football can bring.
The whistles of the fans will therefore remain with them.
Last Friday it was mainly Frankfurt fans who booed this ceremony (and by no means our national anthem or the singer).
The game between entertainment and whistles like this will stay with us for the coming months leading up to the season finale in May 2023.
Rarely has there been more sand in the gears of the new commercial football.
The Bundesliga season that has just started will be characterized primarily by two special features: In addition to Bayern's boring series championship, we can assume that the season interruption due to the unpopular World Cup in Qatar will also cause criticism and rejection.
So we will continue to hear many whistles from critical fans.
FC Bayern is again causing boredom in the championship
Actually, the fight for the championship is the fillet of every league.
With the 6-1 win against Eintracht Frankfurt, Bayern made it clear in the first game of the new season that the suspense in the question of who will win the championship this time is again tending toward zero.
So it's not even worth thinking about anyone getting into the title race.
After all, we know from the past few years that other topics, such as promotion and relegation, qualification for international competitions or performance in the Champions League and Europa League, can also guarantee excitement.
There is also the DFB Cup.
That's why even those who don't like series champions will find the opportunity to experience exciting football and traveling teams.
Harald Lange comments on the start of the Bundesliga.
With the successes and appearances of clubs such as SC Freiburg, Union Berlin and Eintracht Frankfurt, the past season has underscored the fact that the new potential and the actual entertainment value of the Bundesliga lies in this perspective.
I mean: it's not worth whining about the boredom in the "fight" for the championship.
We will find other exciting topics.
However, it then makes sense to distribute the TV money and proceeds from all other Bundesliga marketing rights according to a newly conceived key and to turn off this money tap for Bayern.
Who wants to pay for the guarantee of boredom?
Season break due to the World Cup in Qatar
The season will be suspended for two months after matchday 15 (November 11-13) due to the World Cup in Qatar.
This sensitive intervention not only disturbs the usual dramaturgy of the Bundesliga, but also impressively shows all football fans the dark side of professional sport.
In the run-up to Christmas we will have to forgo the idea of the Bundesliga in order to experience the undignified spectacle in Qatar.
Many fans have already announced their personal boycott.
Instead of power, money or geopolitical games being played out at the expense of the many dead construction workers, we want good sport.

Nico Schulz "denies the allegations": BVB publishes a statement on the ad
I have two questions about this.
First: what exactly is that?
Secondly, how could something like this be realized in commercial football beyond our romanticized ideas?
