Anyone who understands a bit of basketball sees that the current squad of Hapoel Jerusalem is built in the image of the new coach Aleksandar Dzikic - without flashy names, but with good and efficient players who come to work.
At a meeting held with the fans at the beginning of the summer, the owner, Eyal Chomsky, and the (former) CEO, Guy Harel, promised that the players' budget would not decrease and may even increase slightly compared to last season. In the attached tables and graphs, you can indeed see that the club's management kept its promise, and that the budget provided for building the team Does not fall short of the amount Oren Amiel had at his disposal in the summer of 2021.
All in all, the group's total budget is estimated to be around NIS 26 million.
Out of this amount, the players' budget (gross) will make up about 60 percent.
Also, the club's management allocated a significant amount of money on the side, in order to leave an opening for possible changes in the staff during the season according to the coach's wishes.
Similar to last season, the Reds are no longer going wild with the salaries.
Most of the money was invested in the back line with the understanding that three quality foreign guards can carry the team to success - Kadin Carrington will be the top earner;
Lewai Randolph, the king of baskets in the Champions League in the last season behind him;
Zach Hankins, who returned to Israel this summer, will complete the first trio.
In the Israeli sector, Hapoel Jerusalem continued the same line as last season and did not offer high salaries to the local players (with one exception - Oz Blazer).
The Reds realized that there was a fight for every available Israeli on the market, so they acted quickly, opened their pockets and gave the forward sums close to what he earned last season at Maccabi Tel Aviv.
Noam Doberat, on whom much is being built, is still earning as a soldier, but after his release he will earn as a full-fledged actor.
By the way Randolph.
