The European rowing championship held in Munich has started, when the rower Moran Samuel from Beit HaLochem Tel Aviv finished the 2,000 meter rowing today (Thursday) in fourth place with a result of 12:36.04 minutes, and will participate in the final that will be held on Saturday.
Samuel, the silver medalist from the Paralympic Games in Tokyo last year, was overtaken in the qualifiers by rivals from Norway, Germany and Ukraine.

Shmulik Daniel, also from Beit HaLochem Tel Aviv, finished the qualifiers in second place with a result of 11:22.39 minutes, and will compete in the semi-finals which will be held tomorrow, Friday at 11:42. Moran and Shmulik train at the Daniel Rowing Center in Tel Aviv with coach Dima Margolin.
This event also kicked off the European Championships in Munich in 11 sports, in the largest sports event held in the city since the Olympic Games in 1972 - when, as I recall, 11 members of the Israeli delegation were murdered.
