FC Unterföhring hopes for first home win

The state league encounter between the Unterföhring footballers and SpVgg Landshut has a trend-setting character.

– Games against the league leaders are the icing on the cake for footballers.

At FC Unterföhring, however, they had not thought that the home game on the sixth matchday against SpVgg Landshut (Friday, 7.30 p.m.) would have this special feature.

For the FCU, the game is definitely trend-setting as to whether you can establish yourself in the top group of the state league.

"We're really in the mood for the game against Landshut," says Unterfoehringer coach Zlatan Simikic.

During the preparations for Lower Bavaria, the Unterföhringer saw five close games, of which the Landshuter won four.

And it was noticed again and again that Landshut is extremely dangerous in standard situations.

That's why this time it's also a side task to prevent dead balls as much as possible.

"We play good football," says Simikic, who can live with eight points from five games.

With a win against Landshut they would be back in business with two points behind the top.

After the high-flyer Erlbach last year, it is already evident that there is no real championship favorite this year.

The Unterföhring coach is still feeling a little heavy in the stomach that this season they are weakening at home.

There were two draws and the crushing defeat at home, while the record of the two away games is six points and 8:1.

"We want to straighten things out at home," says the coach.

FC Unterföhring has been considered a very strong club at home for many years and was number two in the home table in the previous season with ten wins, four draws and only three defeats. If you want to build on that, then it should now be the first three on your own place give.

After his red suspension, Burhan Bahadir can participate in the venture this time.
