Who will be the player of the year in Europe?
UEFA published today (Friday) the names of the three finalists for the prestigious award: Karim Benzema, Thibaut Courtois, and Kevin de Bruyne.
Benzema seems to be the leading candidate to win the title.
The Frenchman, who continues to pierce nets in the Blancos uniform, is also the leading candidate to win the upcoming Ballon d'Or, so his winning will not surprise anyone.
The European champion sent another representative, and he is its goalkeeper.
Courtois scored the goal for the Madrid last season and was a key screw in winning the championship and, of course, the Champions League as well.
Closing the list is De Bruyne, from Manchester City, who was also one of the most important players in Pep Guardiola's lineup, all the way to a convincing win in the English Championship.
🥇 Karim Benzema, Thibaut Courtois or Kevin De Bruyne?
These are the three nominees for the 2021/22 UEFA Men's Player of the Year award.
The winner will be announced at the 2022/23 #UCL group stage draw ceremony on August 25!
