Bnei Herzliya announced today (Friday) the signing of Senegalese center Biram Paya (22 years old, 207 cm) on a long-term contract for the next three years with team options, as first published in "Israel Today".
Paya grew up in Spain in the youth team of Gran Canaria.
Already in his first season he stood out and was elected MVP of the Spanish Boys' League, and a year later he repeated the feat in the Youth League.
He also participated with the youth team in the Euroleague tournament held in L'Hospitalet where he was selected for the top five of the tournament averaging 20.8 points, 14.3 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.5 blocks per game.
Paya was also the leading player of the Senegal under-18 team that participated in the African Championship in 2018 where he was selected as the outstanding center of the championship averaging 21.7 points, 15.1 rebounds and 3.0 blocks per game.
In 2019, he got to represent the Senegal under-19 team also in the World Championship and showed a high ability with 19.4 points, 10 rebounds and 1.9 blocks on average per game.
