Salihamidzic was able to sign two top European stars for FC Bayern.
A third was apparently also in conversation.
But nothing came of it.
Munich - The transfer summer is not over yet, but those responsible at FC Bayern can look back on a successful job so far.
European top stars like Matthijs de Ligt or Sadio Mané could be lured to Munich.
FC Bayern: record champions also dealt with Kai Havertz
If you believe reports from
Sport1
, it could even have been one more top-class player, and a German one at that.
Kai Havertz is said to have been an issue at FC Bayern early on when planning the squad for the season that has just started.
According to Sport1
chief reporter Kerry Hau, FCB sports director Hasan Salihamidzic approached the player consultant agency ROOF at the beginning of the transfer summer to ask Havertz's plans.
As reported by tz.de
, on Säbener Straße they
apparently wanted to look for a replacement for Robert Lewandowski before the transfer posse was even over.
"We heard that Bayern would have preferred to put Lewandowski at Chelsea to bring Havertz to Munich," said Hau in episode 2 of the
Sport1
podcast
Die Bayern-Woche
.

FC Bayern: Kai Havertz was under discussion as a replacement for Robert Lewandowski
But ultimately it should remain a vague request for several reasons: For Lewandowski, only a move to FC Barcelona was an option, Havertz's coach Thomas Tuchel put a stop to a departure from Chelsea, and Serge Gnabry extended his contract with FC Bayern , which made the bosses see no need for it on the offensive.
Apart from that, there were never any reports that Havertz wanted to reorient himself.
Hau is certain that the record champions will keep the 23-year-old on their agenda.
"Havertz is a player that those responsible find interesting.
Salihamidzic would have liked to have gotten him back in Leverkusen, Uli Hoeneß would have liked to have had him in Munich too," said Hau in the podcast.
Three years ago there is said to have been a secret meeting between FC Bayern chief scout Marco Neppe and Havertz advisor Hannes Winzer.
