Former Formula 1 driver Ralf Schumacher believes it is possible for his nephew Mick Schumacher to switch to the Alpine team.
Berlin – "Mick hasn't signed a contract yet either.
Therefore he would be a candidate.
A candidate with speed, as you can see,” said the TV expert on Sky.
Mick Schumacher's future in Formula 1 is open, his contract with Haas expires after this season.
At Alpine, a cockpit is free for the coming year because Fernando Alonso is moving to Aston Martin.
Actually, the French racing team wanted to promote the Australian replacement pilot Oscar Piastri to regular driver and had even announced this publicly.
However, the 21-year-old turned down the contract.
It is said that he is about to be hired by the McLaren team and could replace his compatriot Daniel Ricciardo there.
Ricciardo does not see Ralf Schumacher as a contender for the Alpine cockpit.
"Personally, I can't imagine him getting another chance in Formula 1," said the 47-year-old.
In addition to his nephew Mick, Schumacher sees Aston Martin substitute driver Nico Hulkenberg as an option for Alpine.
