A huge surprise.
The list of Ballon d'Or candidates was published tonight (Friday) and brought with it quite a bit of news: for the first time since 2005, Leo Messi is not among the 30 finalists.
As I recall, this is the person who won the title last time.
Apart from the flea, there weren't too many big surprises in the list, which includes Cristiano Ronaldo, Kylian Mbappe, Robert Lewandowski, Erling Holland, and who is considered by many to be the leading candidate for the win - Karim Benzema.
