On Saturday, the teams in the top half of the Bundesliga 2 played against the teams in the relegation zone.

Only Karlsruher SC was able to win its game against Sandhausen 3:2 (1:1) and thus provide a liberating blow.

HSV inflicted the fourth defeat in a row on Arminia Bielefeld with a 2-0 (1-0) win and secured third place in the table for the time being.

Kiel won easily 3:0 (1:0) against Eintracht Braunschweig and also showed itself to be clarified against the strengthening Lower Saxony in the second half.

A blatant defensive mistake gave HSV the lead: Arminias Oliver Hüsing was at odds with goalkeeper Stefanos Kapino and made an unnecessarily wide pass in front of his own penalty area.

Sonny Kittel splashed in between and put it across to Ransford Königsdörffer, who hit the ball under the bar (28').

After three defeats in a row, this mistake already made sure that the Arminia audience became audibly more restless against the superior Hamburger.

The next chance from Königsdorffer, after a pass from Robert Glatzel, was thwarted by Kapino who had rushed out (34').

Mario Vuskovic got the ball from a corner and hit the crossbar from 12 meters (43').

Shortly before the break, Kapino prevented Glatzel from being able to make it 2-0 with the last action of the first half.

Bielefeld only hopes for a short time

The Bielefeld team got a little better in the second half, but chances from Stefan Klos and Masaya Okugawa didn't bring anything (46', 48').

Instead, Kapino had to save again against Königsdorffer, who had shot from the left into the far corner (60th).

Then suddenly there was a great chance to equalize: a corner from the right landed at the feet of Frederik Jäkel, who took the shot from close range but shot HSV keeper Daniel Heuer Fernandes (72).

Joker Laszlo Benes then hit the goal from 20 meters past Kapino to make it 2-0 for HSV (74th).

Things could soon get uncomfortable for Bielefeld's new coach Uli Forte.

The Italian had given his regular formation another chance despite the defeat in Rostock (1:2), but the game was controlled by the guests.

Bielefeld is currently 17th and penultimate in league two.

Holstein Kiel has increased the concerns of Eintracht Braunschweig in the 2nd Bundesliga.

The Schleswig-Holsteiners won against the promoted team 3-0 (1-0).

The Braunschweigers remain at the bottom of the table without points or goals even after the fourth matchday.

Steven Skrzybski laid the foundation for Kiel's second win of the season with his goals in the 12th and 73rd minutes.

The guests were unimpressed by the negative series in the first few minutes.

In the fourth minute, Immanuel Pherai steered the ball to the hosts' post.

The leadership of Kiel came as a surprise.

Skrzybski hit the post, from there the ball flew to the back of Eintracht goalkeeper Jasmin Fejzic and then into the goal.

The goal brought Braunschweig out of the concept.

Kiel dominated, only after the change of sides did the newly promoted team become stronger.

Luc Ihorst (49th) failed from a short distance at the outstanding reacting Kiel keeper Thomas Dähne.

But Holstein caught himself and created more and more chances.

Two of the strong Skrzybski (73rd) and Benedikt Pichler (82nd) used the final score.

The substitution of newcomer Anthony Ujah (most recently Union Berlin) brought Braunschweig nothing more.

With the win, Kiel secured fourth place in the table for the time being.

Karlsruher SC has clinched its first win of the season in the 2nd Bundesliga.

The Baden team won the home game against SV Sandhausen 3-2 (1-1) despite falling behind twice.

David Kinsombi (10th) gave SVS the lead, Malik Batmaz (32nd) scored the deserved equalizer for KSC.

Ahmed Kutucu (61st) scored the 2:1 for the clever guests.

But the hosts didn't give up, Simone Rapp (84') scored the deserved equalizer for Baden and Lucas Cueto (87') even secured three points for KSC.
