The second round of the Premier League opened today (Saturday) with Aston Villa's victory over Everton.

Next: Southampton - Leeds, Arsenal - Leicester, Brighton - Newcastle, Manchester City - Bournemouth, Wolves - Fulham (without the injured Manor Solomon), and Benford - Manchester United.

Aston Villa - Everton (1:2)

Former players duo Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard met for the first time as coaches.

In the 31st minute, Villa's striker, Danny Ings, found space for himself in the box after a pass from Ollie Watkins, and sent the ball into the left post and from there into the net, 0:1 for the host.

Emiliano Bondia doubled the score in the 86th minute.

Two minutes later, Villa stopper Lucas Dean scored an own goal to make the game 2:1.

An excellent opportunity by Everton in the 95th minute was also missed, and Stevie G celebrated his first win of the season.
