The Governorate Sports Club hosted an educational course “Sports Seminar” through which modern training techniques, both theoretical and practical, were introduced to Syrian karate for the first time.
The head of the Syrian Arab Karate Federation, Jihad Mahmoud Mia, explained to SANA that the educational session was held according to European academic standards and included coaches and players with the participation of several clubs from Damascus and Damascus countryside, pointing out that the aim of this course is to develop and develop their skills and open up to new methods and techniques of the game.
Mia pointed out that the club is the main pillar of Syrian sport and partnership between clubs and federations of games in well-thought-out ways that generate an advanced product in terms of scientific courses, tournaments and activities, and ultimately create sports champions who are always destined for international podiums.
In addition to the practical exercises, the sports seminar included theoretical lectures on “kumite and its basics” by the coach of the Governorate Club, Nawras Al-Hamwi, and “the arts of kata, methods of mastery and the correct training methods” for the coach and member of the National Teams Committee, Suleiman Daoud.
At the end of the educational session, certificates were distributed to the players and coaches, in the presence of the President of the Game Association, the President of the Governorate Club, Muhammad al-Sibai, and the President of Jaramana Club Basil Dabbous.
