But it turns out that alongside the successes in the competitions, Peters likes to celebrate not only the medals, but also the good life, and last night he attended a party held on a ship, probably with the aim of releasing a little from the stress of regular participation in competitions such as the Diamond League.
According to the evidence, during the party, Peters got into an argument with no less than five other partygoers, from Trinidad and Tobago, and they started beating him.
Peters tried to defend himself, but at the end of the fight he found himself in the sea, after being thrown by the five.
The world champion was pulled from the water, suffering from many bruises and taken to a hospital, where he was treated, and according to an official announcement it was quickly clarified that his injuries were not life-threatening.
However, Peters is now in doubt for the upcoming competitions, including the one in the Diamond League in Switzerland, which will be held in two weeks.
