FC Barcelona tied with its guest Rayo Vallecano in the first round of the Spanish Football League.
Barcelona dominated the events of the first half and its new Polish striker Robert Lewandowski opened the scoring in the 13th minute, but the referee canceled the goal due to offside.
In the second half, Barcelona coach Xavi made several substitutions, most notably by throwing De Young, Fati and Casey, and the latter managed to score a goal in the 88th minute, but the referee canceled the goal again for offside.
The referee of the match issued a second yellow card and then sent off Barcelona captain Sergio Busquets for his violent confrontation with Falcao, the striker of Rayo Vallecano, in the 94th minute, after which the referee blew his whistle, announcing the end of the match with a goalless draw.
With this tie, Barcelona and Vallecano get their first point in the Spanish League in the new season.
