Cycling: Dutchman Fabio Jakobsen European road champion, silver start

The Dutch sprinter blew the victory to the French, silver medalist, in Munich. Dutchman Fabio Jakobsen was crowned European road champion on Sunday in Munich by winning the sprint on Odeonsplatz ahead of Frenchman Arnaud Démare. Winner of the second stage of the Tour de France in July, Jakobsen appeared just before the line to overtake Démare, second as in 2020, and the Belgian Tim Merlier.
