A great achievement for track cyclist Rotem Tana, who finished last night (Saturday) the European Championship held in Munich, Germany, the scratch competition in seventh place, with the best ranking of an Israeli ever in this industry.
The 21-year-old Tana managed to keep up with the rest of the riders, when he dropped out only 2 rounds to the finish, when last year he managed to finish in 11th place and the achievement this time shows the line of progress of the young rider.
In the gold medal, the Portuguese Yuri Letheo won.
Vladislav (Vlad) Loginov finished the points race for 40 kilometers, in 13th place, after gaining 5 points, but was left behind by minus 15 points, the Olympic bronze medalist from Tokyo, the French Benjamin Thoma, won the gold medal, after gaining 135 points Total.
Alon Yogev finished in 19th place in the individual pursuit competition, in which two compete together, from a standing position, at two opposite ends of the 4-kilometer track, while in the same competition Loginov was ranked 20th.
As a reminder, next week, the World Youth Championship in track cycling will be held in the velodrome in Tel Aviv, quite a few of those who are now competing in the European Championship will come to Israel.
