2022-08-15T08:52:16.652Z

The European Athletics Championships begin this Monday in Munich with already many tricolors in the running.

The hour of “Europe” has come.

For the French delegation, this first day is above all synonymous with the entry into the running of its leader, the decathlete Kevin Mayer, the only medalist of the world championships in Eugene (Oregon).

The latter will begin his two days of competitions with the 100 meters (10:05 a.m.).

From 10:25 a.m., it will be the turn of the French pole vaulters to appear on the Munich track.

Marie-Julie Bonnin, Ninon Chapelle and Margot Chevrier will all try to win their ticket for the grand final scheduled for Wednesday.

A few minutes apart, Julien Melody will leave for 42km195 (departure scheduled for 10:30 am).

The Frenchwoman will aim for a top 10 in this European women's marathon, the first final of this championship.

From 10:40 a.m., the beasts will be released.

The series of men's 100 meters will welcome three tricolor contenders: Jimmy Vicaut, Mouhamadou Fall and Michale Zeze.

All three will aim for a place in the final.

Just like the girls (Mallory Leconte and Shana Grebo) who hope to approach their Season Best to enter the final.

The ladies heats are at 11:05 a.m.

11:30 a.m.: first chance for a French medal.

The marathon runners enter the track.

Nicolas Navarro, Benjamin Choquert, Yohan Durand, Michael Gras and Florian Carvalho will try to get a collective charm (three best team times retained) and why not a podium with Nicolas Navarro.

At lunchtime, the long jump will make its appearance in the Munich stadium with three Frenchmen: Augustin Bey, Tom Campagne and the nugget Jules Pommery.
