Musiala and Pavard combine beautifully on the right forward, then the Frenchman brings the cross to the back post where Mané lurks.

But the new superstar is acting a bit unlucky today, as it is here, and somehow manages to get the header in his hand.

Wolfsburg can no longer get out of their own half.

However, the Kovac squad is also very disciplined, which is why there is still little space for Bayern, who are clearly better, but are still struggling.

However, it brings nothing.

With regard to transfer agreements: Hasan Salihamidzic praises Julian Nagelsmann

Update from August 14, 5:10 p.m .:

Bavaria’s sports director Hasan Salihamidzic is on the microphone at DAZN.

The 45-year-old talks to expert Michael Ballack about transfer work in Munich.

“With Sadio, it wasn't difficult to convince everyone.

At Sadio we were all happy that such an idea was even possible.

That's why we flew there after two days and wanted to step on the gas with making contact," he explains about the signing of striker Sadio Mané: "Then we had to feel out a bit to the supervisory board."

He praises his coach for clear transfer agreements: "That's what makes Julian special.

He's totally understanding.

If we say it doesn't suit the club, he goes with us.

Working with him is relaxed.

We can argue and get loud, but we always step out of the room and understand each other.”

FC Bayern line-up: Gnabry and Mané also storm against Wolfsburg next to each other

Update from August 14, 4:50 p.m .:

FC Bayern meets VfL Wolfsburg on Matchday 2: reunion with ex-coach Niko Kovac

First report from August 14:

Munich – Borussia Dortmund beat SC Freiburg 3-1 (0-1), this Sunday evening (5.30 p.m.) FC Bayern wants to follow suit with a win against VfL Wolfsburg.

Coach Niko Kovac, who won the German Bundesliga championship and the DFB Cup with Munich in the 2018/19 season before he had to leave in November 2019, is then on the sidelines for Lower Saxony.

"It's always nice to come back where you've played or worked as a coach," said the 50-year-old Croatian before the game in the Allianz Arena in Munich: "That's why I'm happy.

You will meet many companions in the game.” Before the duel, his successor Julian Nagelsmann said: “Niko Kovac definitely won more titles in his first season at Bayern than I did.

I know that.

Nevertheless, things did not go perfectly during his term of office.” Nagelsmann “only” won the Bundesliga league in his first season – actually not enough for the Bavarian claims.

In the video: Uli Hoeneß enthusiastic about Bayern Munich's start to the season

After challenger BVB's second win in their second game, Bayern are now under pressure to go three points past Westphalia, who are the only team with a full haul so far.

Nagelsmann also relies on the team that swept Eintracht Frankfurt 6-1 out of the stadium at the Bundesliga opener this Sunday.

Means: Sadio Mané and Serge Gnabry storm together, the Austrian Marcel Sabitzer forms the double six with strategist Joshua Kimmich.

Julian Nagelsmann remains with the winning team: Leroy Sané and Matthijs de Ligt are only on the bench

Also means: Leroy Sané and Matthijs de Ligt are sitting on the bench for the time being.

Still too high a hurdle for the "wolves"?

Coach Kovac said before the game: "We have to accept the little that is delivered to us."
