+++ RUMOR +++

Akanji could extend contract to join Inter

According to a media report, Manuel Akanji from the Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund can smooth out his move to the Italian Serie A to Inter Milan himself.

The 27-year-old Swiss could extend his contract with the black and yellow team, which expires in 2023, by a year and move to the northern Italian metropolis on loan with an option to buy, as the "Gazzetta dello Sport" reported on Monday.

According to the newspaper, this solution would be very convenient for Inter Milan and the defender.

According to "Gazzetta", Inter was unable to raise the around 20 million euros previously demanded by Dortmund for the player.

Dortmund could possibly ask for even more for Akanji later.

The player himself, who came under strong competitive pressure with the new signings Niklas Süle and Nico Schlotterbeck in the Dortmund defense, could make the change he wanted.

The report pointed out that this idea was still circulating informally between the parties involved.

Further meetings of the negotiating parties are necessary.

However, Inter coach Simone Inzaghi is still looking for a defender.

Akanji is said to be at the top of club management's wish list.

Ex-Bayern destination Dest to Dortmund?

Two years ago, Sergiño Dest was the absolute dream player of the then Bayern coach Hansi Flick.

Negotiations are also said to have taken place with the aim of guiding the 21-year-old American right-back from Ajax Amsterdam to Munich.

These failed, Dest moved to FC Barcelona – where his time could now be over.

In the first game of the season, when Barcelona drew 0-0 with Vallecano, Dest wasn't even part of the squad.

Barcelona are always looking for fresh money - and Dest would like to play more, according to media reports.

The Spanish newspaper "AS" names Borussia Dortmund as a possible target.

BVB is not always happy with its previous right-back Thomas Meunier.

According to »AS«, Manchester United, Bestis Sevilla and FC Valencia should also be interested.

Baumgartlinger before Augsburg change

After the prolonged absence of U21 European champion Niklas Dorsch, FC Augsburg are trying to sign veteran Julian Baumgartlinger in midfield.

The Austrian is without a contract, which makes him even more interesting for FCA.

Baumgartlinger last played for Bayer 04 Leverkusen in the Bundesliga.

Several media reported FCA interest.

According to information from the "Bild" newspaper, FCA is said to have already agreed on a one-year contract with the 34-year-old.

The association “did not want to comment” on Monday.

The 24-year-old Dorsch, who was planned by the new coach Enrico Maaßen as a fixed point in midfield, broke his metatarsus during the pre-season friendly against French first division club FC Stade Rennes.

He's out for a long time.

Baumgartlinger would be an interim solution without major financial risk for FCA.

With his experience from 239 Bundesliga games and 84 international matches for Austria, he would be a sensible sporting option.

After the Dorsch failure, the Augsburgers had already reacted in terms of personnel by signing Elvis Rexhbecaj from VfL Wolfsburg in midfield.

The 24-year-old has signed a contract with FCA until the summer of 2026.

West Ham interested in Kehrer

With his versatility, defender Thilo Kehrer is an important part of the German national soccer team. Under national coach Hansi Flick, the ex-Schalke player was only twice absent from the starting XI of the DFB selection.

At Paris Saint-Germain, however, Kehrer is sorted out, as is Julian Draxler.

In order to collect game practice for the World Cup, you need a change.

According to the Guardian, it is now in the offing: Premier League club West Ham United are said to be interested in signing the versatile defensive player.

There is a transfer fee of 16 million pounds (almost 19 million euros) in the room.

Nottingham continues to invest

The English Premier League promoted Nottingham Forest continues to spend money happily.

Now the English have also grabbed the 46-time Swiss national player Remo Freuler from Atalanta Bergamo.

Nine million euros are said to be due for the 30-year-old central midfielder.

Freuler is the 15th signing in the current transfer window for Nottingham, who have increased their spending to €118.5m.

Only four teams in Europe invested more in new players in the summer, including FC Bayern.
