Sadio Mané has been lacing his football boots for Liverpool FC for six years.
Then comes the move to Bayern Munich.
And LFC coach Jürgen Klopp raves.
Munich – Hardly any other transfer caused as much attention this summer in 2022 as that of Sadio Mané.
FC Bayern Munich transferred around 32 million euros to FC Liverpool.
The theater around Robert Lewandowski showed that the almost noiseless change of the Senegalese in this way is not a matter of course.
It is therefore not surprising that Mané's former coach from the "Reds", Jürgen Klopp, only has words of praise for his ex-protégé.
Klopp raves about Bayern star Sadio Mané: "I'd like it to be normal"
"The Sadio story is a special one," emphasized Klopp at
kicker
.
The way the transfer to FC Bayern went through, it should “like to be normal”.
Because: “Sadio told us early on that he would like to change.
You talk to a player who has been with us for six years.
That is perfectly normal.”
A few weeks ago, Klopp explained to the
Leipziger Volkszeitung
why he had let Mané go to Bayern.
It was all about gratitude.
And now, in the
kicker
interview, the Liverpool coach explained that Mané "would have been very happy to keep".
But: “Sadio wanted to do something different.
This is a free world, decisions should be made this way: announce them in good time.
If there is one or more interested parties, a reasonable price is paid, then it's a deal.
If it were always like that, it would just be cool.”
Sadio Mané scores twice in Bayern's win - but both goals don't count
The two-time footballer of the year in Africa has long since arrived in the Bayern squad.
Two goals in three competitive games speak for themselves.
Mané is the new Lewandowski at Bayern, in terms of salary and performance.
The winger also scored twice in the most recent 2-0 win against VfL Wolfsburg - both times from an offside position.
Team-mate Thomas Müller also raved about Mané after the game: “Before the 1-0 offside goal, he turned up very well.
He got the timing right too.
We then switched to the right side, which was a bit offside.
Of course he gives a lot to our game with his attacking qualities.
(...) Today he was unlucky twice because I allowed myself to be sidelined twice." (nc)
