There was no doubting Lenggrieser SC's deserved 5-2 victory, but league newcomers SC Rot-Weiss did extremely well.

There was no doubting Lenggrieser SC's deserved 5-2 victory, but league newcomers SC Rot-Weiss did extremely well.

Lenggries/Bad Tölz – After a decade-long break, Lenggrieser SC and SC Rot-Weiss Bad Tölz met again in a league game on Saturday afternoon.

The novelty: in the district league.

Befitting their status, the hosts – voted favorites in Group 1 by most of their rivals – won the revival 5-2.

"We mostly had the Tölzer under control," judged LSC trainer Stefan Simon.

"However, I would have liked to have had more possession of the ball."

Estner's injury overshadows Derby

While Benedikt Ertl's two fouls in the penalty area hurt the guests, which resulted in two callously converted penalties by Leo Gerg, a harmless scene in the 73rd minute was the mood killer of the entire encounter: Marinus Estner, who scored twice from the red and white jumped over Kilian Mürnseer and buckled his left knee during the unfortunate landing.

A bad knee injury is to be feared, because after minutes of treatment on the field, the unlucky raven had to be transported in the Sanka.

At this point, the game was already decided.

Two "identical" gates on the right

Even the start gave hope for a racy Isarwinkler Derby;

In any case, the 400 or so spectators did not have to regret coming.

No sooner had the kick-off than the Tölzer raced over to the Lenggrieser Kasten on the right.

Abu Swid on Fatih Kocyigit, and he tested Maxi Kleim for the first time, who was no longer showing signs of a broken toe.

Two almost "identical" goals followed from the home side: cross from the left, first by Jakob Gerg, then by Michael Schnaderbeck, and Michael Demmel, who was lurking in the middle, was the executor twice.

"It was a perfect start," said the goalgetter happily, "I can't remember when I ever scored two goals in five minutes."

Estner's hammer under the bar to make it 1:2

Even if the Lenggrieser recorded a significant increase in chances in the period that followed, the Red and Whites were not deterred by the double strike.

They stayed snappy in midfield and striving to go forward.

Marinus Estner hammered one of these offensive accents under the crossbar with millimeter precision after a short corner to connect.

"We practiced that during the final training session on Friday," reveals RW trainer Sebastian Wagner, "but all the shots went into the sky."

In the almost 30 minutes that followed before the break, the Lenggrieser extended their dominance.

Sebastian Dix, Demmel again, Schnaderbeck and Jakl Gerg - they all had the 3:1 on the slippers;

but either the final precision was missing or goalkeeper Sigi Bahner was on the post.

And so defender Ertl had to make a mistake: Schnaderbeck had placed the ball too steeply, but gratefully accepted Ertl's leg as a launch pad - and also got the (justified) penalty.

"Really stupid," the culprit verbally chastised himself after the final whistle.

Leo Gerg stable in all respects

Leo Gerg not only delivered a stable six, but also a precise penalty shooter: twice he missed Bahner ice cold.

Because the second time around, he didn't let the opportunity pass him by.

This time Ertl LSC offensive man Jakl Gerg drove into the parade, albeit with light ball contact.

"That decided the game," admitted Wagner, but credited his team with "the fact that they never gave up".

Because after Estner's 2: 3 connection it had looked for a few minutes as if the league newcomer could still tear something, but after the 4: 2 the red and white didn't go together much anymore.

For one, however, the final 5:2 had more meaning than just statistical value: for Antony Hartmann.

The Lenggrieser youngster crowned his first appearance with the men with the premiere goal in the first.

"It can't get any better than that on the debut," grinned the striker, "I just had the right instincts." And coach Simon confirmed: You can see that he's a trained striker."
