After the three medals in the marathon, the Israeli delegation to the European Athletics Championships celebrated a fourth medal in Munich this evening (Monday).

And as in the World Championship about a month ago, it is signed by Luna Chemtai Saltpeter.

In Oregon she made history with a bronze medal in the marathon at the World Championships, while at the European Championships she chose to defend her title in the shorter 10,000 meters, didn't do it, but still stood on the podium once more and got the bronze medal.

Both a medal and a new record.

Along with Saltpeter, another Israeli ran, Slamvit Bayoline-Tefri, the wife of Maro Tefri who earlier won the silver medal in the men's marathon and was of course a partner in the team gold.

After the first laps she was ranked fifth and ahead of Salpeter, but the situation changed after that.

Both of them in any case remained in the lead, when after 4,000 meters Salpeter stood in fourth place and Teferi in sixth.

Saltpeter reached the medal position after 7,200 meters and rose to second place, while Turkey's Yasmin Can decided to escape and opened a gap in first place.

Saltpeter switched places with the British Eilish McCollgan who eventually overtook her and also managed to keep the second place after Jahn.

As mentioned, Salpeter finished third with a time of 30:46.37 minutes, which is a new personal record and also a new Israeli record, when the previous one also belonged to her (31:15.78 minutes in 2019).

Tapri also recorded a nice achievement with the fifth place and a season record of 31:24.03.
