Only hours before the game between SpVgg Unterhaching and FC Bayern Munich II, SpVgg head coach Sandro Wagner followed and commented on the Bundesliga game between SC Freiburg and Borussia Dortmund in Breisgau in his part-time job as a TV expert.
During the day, Wagner, like 4,000 football fans, saw a similarly exciting game between his team and the FC Bayern amateurs in the Unterhachinger Sportpark in the Bavarian Regional League.
The eventful derby between the two neighboring clubs was tough.
Numerous chances to score on both sides, a missed penalty by the guests and missed Hachinger opportunities in the second round marked the gripping game.
"It was a nice little game for all neutral spectators," Wagner summed up.
Copado misses a penalty
After the final whistle, however, the Munich team seemed a bit depressed that they couldn't take a threesome from the Unterhachinger Sportpark.
And that was for a reason.
Because in the first half, the amateurs of the German record champions missed too many chances.
On the one hand, Bayern had to be annoyed by a missed penalty kick by Bayern striker Lucas Copado Schrobenhauser, who has roots in Haching through his extended family (15th), which SpVgg goalkeeper René Vollath saved strongly (15th).
And about a missed opportunity for the lead by Grant-Leon Ranos, who clearly missed the Hachinger goal in front of Vollath (16th).
On the other side, the hosts, who were on the defensive this time deeper than usual, had a good chance of scoring the first goal after a scuffle in the visitors' penalty area.
However, in addition to the two big chances, Bayern recorded far more game shares, which was also due to the more defensive basic structure of SpVgg.
In the second half, the guests were rewarded for their superiority after central defender Antonio Tikvic plucked up courage and threw the ball from 30 meters into the top corner of the Hachinger goal to make it 0:1 (47 ').
If Lovro Zvonarek had scored the goal to make it 2-0 a little later with his low shot instead of the right post (51st), the preliminary decision would have been made.

But the Hachinger not only stayed in the game, but became stronger and stronger as the game went on.
After Vollath was able to prevent another goal with two strong saves (56th, 73rd), SpVgg launched an attack in the final quarter of an hour.
After a low shot from Hachinger full-back Max Lamby (80') that went just wide of the right post and two good chances from Boipelo Mashigo (81', 82'), the home team struck via their substitute offensive talent Maurice Krattenmacher.
The 17-year-old did the preparatory work for Haching's top scorer Mathias Fetsch, who scored his acclaimed fourth goal of the season to make it 1-1 (84 ') after an exemplary chest attack and a subsequent solid shot from close range.
Up to the final whistle, the hosts kept running against Munich, who were now acting somewhat carelessly, but a lucky last-minute win in the derby was no longer possible.
"We can live with the point," said goalscorer Fetsch.
The loss of the table lead in the Regionalliga Bayern was irrelevant in view of the racy derby.
"Tactically, I'm satisfied with how we did it.
For me, the next important step in my development was to be able to stand deeper in a game and then to remain calm when the opponent had the ball," Wagner said happily.
