The Football Association officially contracted Dutch coaches Mark Vote and Filko Van Buren today to coach the national teams for the age groups for the next four years.

The President of the Football Association, Salah Ramadan, and during the signing of the contract at the headquarters of the Football Association, pointed out that contracting with the new coaches is the first work in the strategy set by the Federation for the coming years, in cooperation with the national coaches, to build Syrian football in the right way.

The two coaches expressed their happiness at supervising the training of the Syrian teams within the age groups, expressing their willingness to transfer their expertise to develop Syrian football and bring it to the level required to achieve remarkable results and achievements.

And coach Philco van Buren, born in 1962, who will lead the technical helms of the U-17 and U-15 national teams, holds the “Pro” Asian certificate and was involved in training the age groups in both Ajax and Breda, the Dutch, and worked as director of the Bahraini Riffa Club Academy and assistant coach for the first team in the 2007-2008 season. He trained the Hungarian Olympic team under-21 years 2008-2009 and the age groups of the Saudi Al-Ahly Club between 2010 and 2014.

He also coached an under-19 team at the Emirati Al Shabab Club 2014-2015 and Al Ain Club from 2018 to 2021 for the U-17 category.

As for coach Mark Vote, who coached the Syrian U-23 and U-20 national teams, he was born in 1960 and holds a “Pro” certificate from UEFA. He worked as a coach for Den Haag in 1992 and Utrecht 1997-2000. He coached the Netherlands U-21 team 2000-2002 and Al-Ahly Qatar in 2007. -2008 and the Egyptian Ismaili 2010-2011.

He trained the English club Southampton in 2009 and worked as a technical director in the Scottish Federation for three years 2011-2014. In the Saudi Al-Qadisiyah club in the 2021-2022 season.
