Along with Anastasia Gorbenko's gold medal, swimmers of the Israeli national team jumped to four additional bronze medals this evening (Tuesday) at the European Championships in Rome.
The 4x200 freestyle medley relay quartet finished sixth in the finals, with a time of 7:38.45 minutes.
Denis Loktev started with 1:47.66 minutes, Bar Soloveitchik continued with 1:48.89 minutes, Daria Golovati set 2:01.40 minutes and Gorbenko advanced with 2:00.50 minutes.
In the 200 individual medley, Ron Polonsky reached the first final of his career at the European Championships.
Polonsky clocked 1:59.52 minutes in the semifinals and advanced from third place to the final, which will be held tomorrow at 19:37 Israel time.
In the same race, Eitan Ben Shetrit set a personal record of 2:01.00 minutes and finished in tenth place, 52 hundredths from the final.
Later this evening, in the semi-finals of the 50 freestyle relay, Miron Haruti set a time of 22.07 seconds and finished in 11th place, 15 hundredths away from qualifying for the final.
