French swimmers Maxime Grousset, in the 50m, Mewen Tomac and Yohann Ndoye Brouard, in the 100m backstroke, qualified for the finals of the European Championships in Rome on Tuesday.
Ndoye Brouard, crowned European champion in the 200m backstroke, impressed in the semi-finals by signing the best time with a time of 52 sec 97, more than eight tenths of the French record held by Camille Lacourt (52.11).
In the final, he will be accompanied by Tomac, 5th in the half in 53.89.
The final will take place on Wednesday.
Grousset, silver medalist in the 50m butterfly then titled in the 4x100m mixed relay on Monday, qualified for the 50m final by signing the 5th time in the half (21.75).
He will try to win a second international medal in the 50m this year after the bronze at the World Championships in Budapest in June.
