After a three-year Corona break, the benefit game "Champions for Charity" returns.

The collection is primarily for Michael Schumacher's foundation.

Frankfurt - During his successful career, Michael Schumacher not only gained recognition for his seven world championship titles in Formula 1.

The 53-year-old always impressed with his charitable work, for example in January 2005 he donated 10 million dollars after the flood disaster in Thailand and Indonesia.

Even though the former amateur soccer player Schumi has not been in the public eye since his skiing accident, there are still charity campaigns for the Schumacher family foundation.

On August 24th, many faces from the world of sport will gather for the benefit game in Frankfurt's Waldstadion.

Mick Schumacher and Dirk Nowitzki lead two teams onto the field in "Champions for Charity".

The football game of the “Champions for Charity” charity campaign had not been able to take place for three years in a row due to the corona virus. Now the stadium of the Europa League winner is opening its doors for the prominently cast game.

As every year, basketball legend Dirk Nowitzki, whose foundation is also involved, will also be there.

But some stars, especially from Formula 1 and, of course, from football, announced themselves.

The last Champions for Charity game was in 2019.

The two Formula 1 world champions Sebastian Vettel and Mika Häkkinen also announced their presence, as did the former pilot David Coulthard and the boss of the motorsport series, Stefano Domenicali.

The DTM drivers Maximilian Götz, competitor Kelvin van der Linde and Timo Bernhard will also be there.

The Frankfurt fans will be especially looking forward to their keeper Kevin Trapp, the national player will be among the participants, as will ex-SBU kicker Martin Hinteregger.

The world champion trio of 2014 is a little more prominent, with Christoph Kramer and the two ex-FC Bayern players Mats Hummels and Lukas Podolski, real top-class players.

FCB's chief scout, Pirmin Schwegler, is also on board. On Sunday he spotted another promising player for Bayern Munich.

The former Bayern striker and current club representative Giovane Elber will appear despite his 50 years.
