The German interim result at the European Championships is more than impressive.
The gymnasts and the surprises in the marathon are fun.
The gymnasts (above), the track cycling division (left), climbing ace Hannah Meul, the triathlon mixed team and surprise marathon champion Richard Ringer (right) ensured a true black and red golden medal rain.
The organizers are also very satisfied with the way things have gone so far and the spectator response.
"We are overwhelmed," says Marion Schöne, Managing Director of Olympiapark München GmbH.
"One only looks at relaxed faces, there can't be a better advertisement for the park, Munich, Bavaria and Germany."
In the first five days, more than half a million people were moved.
