Football and Corona - sometimes a difficult combination.
Author Ahmad Mansour was upset on Twitter about the obligation for children to wear a mask at 1. FSV Mainz 05.
Munich – Corona is far from defeated, but in many places you can already believe it would be like that.
In autumn, for example, the Oktoberfest in Munich takes place again after a two-year break.
Many events are taking place again without the obligation to wear masks, football stadiums are packed like they were before the pandemic.
Author Ahmad Mansour tweets picture of Mainz enema children - discussion on Twitter
However, the arenas are not yet completely without corona precautionary measures.
The psychologist and author Ahmad Mansour noticed exactly this in a photo of a home game of the Bundesliga soccer club Mainz 05: The picture shows the Mainz pros after warming up.
They are accompanied by enema children, which has not always been allowed in recent years.
Now the kids are back - but unlike the football players, they have to wear a mask.
The photo is also used on the Rheinhessen website when it is called for to apply to be an enema child.
There it is clearly stated that the children must wear a mask.
Mansour tweeted the photo and wrote: "You can always find some justification for treating children this way, but this picture symbolizes in a chilling way how we have treated children over the last two and a half years."
With his words, the author starts a discussion in which the virologist Jonas Schmidt-Chanasit also takes part.
In response, he only writes a sentence that is apparently meant sarcastically: "How could it have happened like this?"
"I also find it inhumane to simply put Mainz jerseys on poor children"
Mansour receives criticism as well as encouragement.
A user points out that there is no mask requirement for enema children at other Bundesliga clubs.
Another user wrote to Mansour: "What are you aiming for?
That the boys are sensibly wearing masks?
The footballers unreasonably not?
What's so terrible about that for the kids?
Sure, the footballers could be contagious, but they are probably tested regularly.

Another comment reads: “The league professionals are probably all tested and do not want to risk contagion from the drawn boys.
But it would be consistent, exemplary and fair if everyone wore masks.”
Another user takes the matter with humor: "I also find it inhumane to simply put Mainz jerseys on poor children.
Where's Amnesty when you need her?"
