ZDF icon and motorsport expert Karl Senne is dead. A sports studio episode should be remembered by the numerous fans for a long time.

The former sports director of the second died on Monday, August 15, 2022, said the second German television, citing his family.

, Senne last lived with his wife in Mallorca (Capdepera).

Born in East Westphalia, he moderated "Das Aktuelle Sportstudio" between 1981 and 1992 - Senne was one of the co-founders of the sports show and, according to ZDF, presented it 128 times.

According to ZDF editor-in-chief Peter Frey, he was "noble and eloquent".

In the years 1989 to 1992, Karl Senne was also the sports director of the TV station.

The deceased was also the presenter of “Telemotor” for many years.

Karl Senne was also a qualified sports teacher and, from 1971, initially headed the “Sports Information” editorial team.

From 1973 he headed the editorial department of the "Aktuelle Sportstudio".

From 1984 he was deputy to the then head of sports, Dieter Kürten, before he headed the main editorial department for sports at ZDF from 1989 to 1992.

Karl Senne would have turned 88 on October 26.
