The law to prevent violence in sports passed the Knesset and now the police are starting to implement it in the field.
This evening (Tuesday), the police removed a Hapoel BS fan on suspicion of lighting a flare during the team's away game against Lugano, Switzerland.
The fan was arrested by the local police and continued treatment by the Israeli police.
This is an extension for a period of 60 days from the fields, during which the fan will have to stay at the station for every game of his team.
The police stated: "According to legal precedent, the fan was today summoned for questioning and removed from the sports fields in Israel for 60 days in accordance with the Law Prohibiting Violence in Sports. The police call on the fans to 'say no to violence, yes to sport.'
