"The wrong way": Sebastian Vettel already rules out a popular career path

Sebastian Vettel announced his retirement from Formula 1 at the end of July.

He has already ruled out a post-career career popular with celebrities.

Warwickshire – Sebastian Vettel will contest nine more races in Formula 1 after the summer break before retiring.

His racing team Aston Martin had tried everything to keep the experienced driver in the team, but the 35-year-old made it clear that he wanted to retire at the end of the year.

The Hessian has not yet announced what he will do in the future or whether he will take a break.

However, he recently ruled out an activity.

Formula 1 connoisseurs were amazed when Vettel surprisingly opened an account on Instagram on July 28 – even though he is known not to be a friend of social media.

However, the Heppenheimer did not use the platform to post photos and stories from his private life, but to announce his retirement from motorsport via video.

No further post has followed since the announcement.

With 2.2 million subscribers, Vettel has a large following even without typical Instagram content.

When asked about his account, the four-time world champion said to the

portal : "I think the reason is clear why I did it." Apparently, the resignation videos were the only reason for Vettel to join the image platform to register.

He already rules out an Instagram career in the next sentence.

"I think for me it was such a good way to get my message out in that sense.

I think influencer is the wrong way for me, but I let myself be surprised and I have a lot of ideas," said Vettel.

So he will not pursue an influencer career, that much is certain.

But the father of the family cannot give a real view either.

"I think there is a great deal of uncertainty and the great unknown," said the Aston Martin driver in an interview.

On the one hand, he is "of course afraid, how will I cope, how will it be if it doesn't start in March and so on." On the other hand, he is looking forward to the "challenge (...) that we all face as athletes and female athletes,” said Vettel.

"After that, there's still a lot to wait."
