Adèle Milloz dies on Mont Blanc: Greatest sporting success of 2017 in Sochi
The tragic death of Milloz makes it clear that experience does not protect against accidents: According to reports, the deceased was familiar with the region and even grew up in the mountains.
The passionate ski mountaineer achieved her greatest sporting success in 2017 when she won the gold medal in both the individual and team competitions at the Winter Games in Sochi (Russia).
Two years later, the winter sports enthusiast ended her active career to train as a high mountain guide in the tourist stronghold of Chamonix.
Ski mountaineering is a comparatively young sport that has only attracted media attention in recent years and is now also an Olympic sport.
Impressions illustrate the potential danger of this hobby:

As the British

That's why mountaineers and hikers have been asked to postpone planned tours because the possibility of rock falls has increased.
The women who died in the accident were on their way on Friday 12 August towards the Aiguille du Midi summit.
At an altitude of almost 3200 meters, they then fell into the depths.
